Francisco António Figueira Lagarto, natural de Viana do Alentejo, é licenciado em escultura pela Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa.
Professor do Ensino Preparatório, foi durante alguns anos professor de Cerâmica na Arca/Etac, em Coimbra.
Até 1998 a sua actividade concentrou-se na Cerâmica, realizando exposições em Évora, Coimbra, Aveiro, Leiria, Porto, Viseu e Viana do Alentejo. A partir de 1998 passou a dedicar-se exclusivamente à pintura a óleo. Nesta área participou em várias exposições individuais e colectivas e está representado em diversas colecções particulares.
É membro do Movimento Artístico de Coimbra.
